The Effects of Using Peanut Meal (Arachis hypogaea L.) Instead of Soybean Meal in Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum, 1792) Feeds on Growth, Biochemical Composition and Fillet Color

The aim of this study was to determine the effect using peanut meal (Arachis hypogaea L.) instead soybean in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum, 1792) feeds on growth performance, biochemical composition and fillet color. For purpose, were fed for eight weeks with four different diets adjusted as iso-nitrogenic (45% protein), iso-lipidic (19% lipid) iso-energetic (22 kJ g-1). While CF (commercial feed) group commercial feed, three experimental containing 0% (Control-C), 50% (PNM50) 100% (PNM100) formulated other groups. As a result 8 diet treatments, best final weight, weight gain specific rate found PNM50 difference among groups significant. use decreased fish meat protein ratios compared C qualities redness, yellowness hue distinct between dorsal caudal locations. At all measured regions did not any significant chroma. It is thought that differences L*, a*, b * are due thickness preservation coloring matter. Consequently, could be used without negative effects growth.
